Mission & Philosophy

Paladin Academy is dedicated to the education of students with specific learning challenges such as dyslexia and attention deficit disorder.

Paladin Academy is a co-educational, non-sectarian school which focuses exclusively on students dealing with specific learning challenges. Ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade, our students come from both public and private schools where they have often not maximized their academic potential. Our program is designed to assist students with average to above average intelligence who may not be functioning on grade level.

A learning challenge may present itself in various ways that may include difficulty with reading comprehension, word recognition, mathematics, or with memory for facts or names. Our students may also have issues expressing edits or opinions, or expressing themselves in writing. Paladin Academy may also include students who are easily distracted, have challenges with organization, or trouble starting tasks and remaining on task. We do not address challenges of a behavioral or delayed nature. We seek to enroll students whom our program has the potential to benefit.

Many of our students have experienced feelings of failure and frustration in other academic settings. We recognized that these students require individually tailored programs and instruction. Paladin Academy reviews each student on an individual basis; giving them the proper attention they deserve. An individual program plan is developed for each student and evaluated annually. Our school provides an academic and social environment in which each student may succeed.

Our program is not only designed to remediate and educate our students, but to foster their willingness to take responsibility as active and independent learners. Paladin Academy emphasizes a comprehensive team effort between parents, teachers, students and administrators. With this, we are able to help students become their own advocates in society.

We strive to prepare our students to re-enter the mainstream educational system. Every effort is made to provide our students with an awareness of how they as individuals learn and to develop the confidence necessary to attempt difficult tasks with the expectations of success.
